There are lots of good things to look forward to this weekend......
......an extensive Dardenne Brothers Retrospective at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.....
Laila's Birthday is playing all weekend long at MOMA. It looks amazing....
and the classic, oh-so-good Chahine film Cairo Station screens tonight at BAM with the short film Cairo as seen by Chahine . See it! And if you want a full-on Egyptian night, have dinner at Mr. Falafel--sure, it's kind of a trek to get from BAM to the South Slope, and sure it's a bit divey and slow. Not of that matters because instead of being a generic-y middle-eastern-y falafel/kebab place, it is actually an Egyptian place which means they actually have koshary! oh the carbs.

I think they need a new picture of koshary on WIKI. that looks digusting! But favorite egyptian cinematic food moment (ok an obscure statitistic at best): Aquarium...the man goes to the country to eat camel!
ReplyDeleteit may not look pretty but it's seriously delicious. like the tacos from williamsburg taco trucks--messy and tasty.
ReplyDeletelike the lamb on rice from the midtown halal carts--greasy and good!
